A Message from Chase Speculaas

A very important message to all users of SPD compatible ships:

     When I announced that I was developing a new ship combat system, it stirred up a hornet's nest of controversy.  I am sending out this message to hopefully clear up some of the confusion and fears, to explain my reasoning behind the new system, and to explain what my plans are for the future of SPD ships.  If you are seriously concerned about the SPD ship combat system and its future, please read the following in full (I know it's a lot, but there's a lot of controversy to cover).  Until you have read it, it would not be fair for you to complain to me or others about the new system.  Please read it before criticizing the new system, so that you can make a fully informed judgment.  Please IM me if you have any concerns about the new system that are not addressed... I've tried to address every single complaint or concern I've heard so far.

Sitting on a dock in the bay, the environment in my viewer is set to sunrise. I feel as if I have traveled back in time to an era of summer garden parties, croquet lunch in the garden folly. I can almost taste lemonade made with real lemons, and ice slivers from the ice box. The ice man having been by just as the sun was coming up on his horse drawn carriage, sawdust keeping the ice cold for his trip around town.

Sanctuary adds 11th Sim

Sanctuary has now expanded to 11 sims, in a rush to get 'grandfathered' before the new pricing takes effect July 1st.

With the increase in size, pirates have begun roaming the waters seeking out plunder and adventure. Pirate themed shops have cropped up in the land areas and scoundrels have been known to frequent the Ancient Mariner pirate tavern on the Sanctuary Bay sim. 

Anyone thinking of buying a homestead sim before the price increase should contact Artfox Daviau in-world asap, before time runs out.

Artfox needs to sell a mainland sim within 24 hrs; offers 10,000L reward

Artfox Daviau announced this morning a reward for the person that brings him a buyer for his only mainland sim.  Says Artfox:

10,000L Reward to whoever BRINGS the one who BUYS my 51000sqm protected waterfront on Enzo sim in the next 24 hours. Need to sell it in order to add more sims on Sanctuary

I have made it the Prettiest sim on Mainland, trees and waves, lanscaping, offshore islands. Worth a look.

Sanctuary Increases to 8 Sims

Artfox Daviau announced today that Sanctuary has increased to 8 sims, with lots of sailing water.  This has resulted in an increase in pirate activity and merchant ships are warned to stay alert when sailing these waters.

More news to follow as the situation develops.

Ostrich Races Come to Sanctuary Bay

May 18, 2009- a day that will live in infamy.  Indeed, that day was the marker of the first Ostrich Race in Sanctuary Bay.

It was a calm and sunny Sanctuary afternoon, as local citizens and honored guests gathered at the Crosswinds Winery to race their fowl.  I brought along my best bird, Sabrina, whom I had taught to talk in hopes of disorienting the other riders.  Unfortunatley, much like the WB frog, Sabrina clammed-up at the event. 

Among those in attendance were AngusGraham Ceawlin, Sharrah Brendal, Artox Daviau, Laluce Wind, Carolina Questi, Bridget Jennings and other racers and spectators.  Winners included Bridget, Lewton and Janna.

The races were all in fun (I took 2nd in the first heat!) and we look forward to more races in the future.
